H1N1 Hits

The Face of H1N1 isn't pretty, but we all survived.  Katie's boyfriend was the first to come down with it, he was deadly sick and spent two days in hospital with it.  Katie was lucky enough to have a prescription for Tamiflu, which is an expensive medicine that shortens and make the symptoms less severe.  IF taken as soon as a person feels sick.  Katie was so sick, and with Todd in hospital, much sicker but being well taken care of, as a family decision we brought Katie down here with us for a 24-hour period.  We treated the symptoms, and tried to make her rest. She did good, and is well on her way to recovery.  Todd, being much sicker, is still recovering, but think all is about back to normal a week later!

Some of the items to help treat H1N1!  Add water, ibuprofen, Tylenol, soups, cough syrups, cough drops, and ANY other items the "patient" may drink or need.  We were also lucky that we had some anti-nausea medication also, which gave her rest from the constant barfing!

So at this point, I feel we have had a practice run at helping during a "pandemic" which I hope NEVER occurs, but is certainly possible.
Never will forget sitting in a "VIP" church meeting and having one of the VIP's saying that THIS could never happen in Fremont County. I hope if it ever does (in pandemic portion) HE is the one to start it!
(We removed the Red X from our front door!!)

Until Next Time!
