If Vehicles Could Talk!

This is our 1976 International Scout II and if it could talk! We bought this from a friend in Florence about 1985 - give or take a few years.
The stories this Scout could tell.
Back in the late 90's, it was stolen, probably by some after-hour bar patrons, but they didn't get very far (because it wasn't running good) and dumped it on a country road close to town! So our Scout was returned, not much worse for the wear.

Around that time, we had a chance to get a jeep, a really cute jeep! (It was red, saucy, and delightful, but that's another story!) The man we purchased that Jeep from wanted to buy our Scout, so we sold it to him. A few weeks later, he decided he really didn't want the Scout, so our Scout returned again!

Then as time went on, we needed a better Jeep or Scout to tow behind motorhome, so we sold our beloved Red Jeep, and bought a newer Jeep. We also sold the scout to a lady in Pueblo West who wanted it to fix it up and restore. Then again, after a few years, she decided she really didn't want to do that, and needed money, so again our Scout returned!!!

After sitting for a few years, it's back running, and Ryan wants to "restore" it! Wonder what adventures are in store for this Scout now??!

Some Miscellaneous Things!

Another Sunrise in Fremont County! May, 2010

A thunderstorm located over the Colorado Springs area. Beautiful electrical display! May 2010

We have always assumed this was a crab apple tree, this being the FIRST year in the 5 we have lived here, that there is anything on it! (It has always frozen) So now I am wondering IF it's actually a crab apple???!!

My Denver Grandkids

A wonderful visit to see our grandkids in Denver. We don't see them too often, so it's always a very special time when we are able to spend time with them.
This first picture is our oldest granddaughter in Denver, Morgan Elaine (named after me!!) who is 14!

This most delightful young miss is our second oldest granddaughter, Lindsey who is now 10 years old! What a beauty!

And the youngest, Landon, is so full of life, love, personality and energy! He is now 7 years old. Seems like just yesterday these kids were babies. This one looks so much like a couple of his cousins on the McCormick side.

Wow, am I glad to have them as grandkids!!!

Chickens in the Road!

One of my favorite blogs, Chickens in the Road.com started up a new item, Farm Bell Recipes. The first few weeks they had some give-aways, this was given away the first week and I won! I was number 49 to comment.
When I first saw that jmac had won the first give-away, I was disappointed that someone else was using my sign-in name! Duh!!!!

Thank You Suzanne McMinn!

Some of my Favorite Things!

And of course I have been out shooting clouds and sky! When don't I??!!
The sunrise shot was yesterday, "He" says I get up too early, but this is the BEST time of day!!

We had a rain yesterday, the last of the lilacs looks so so pretty following the rain! Just about over until next year. :(

After the rain passed, this thunderhead was building just to the east of me. It was sure pretty against that blue sky!

Evening yesterday, this was building towards Colorado Springs. It was big!
So until next time!

Happy Kids!

Just some shots of Beth and Mark when they were called for 2nd in Pork!

Busy Days

We have been on the go again, this weekend was the 6th Annual Wild West BBQ in Lamar. We went with Beth and Mark, and we were also judges. I believe winter FINALLY is gone, although there are winter warnings posted for the northern mountains of Colorado even today with 8 or more inches expected.
But on to this, since this is my blog, I will add more pictures! This was out outfit in Lamar, at their city park. It was a good time, nice people.
Beth and Mark (Rib-It) took 2nd place in Pork, which is very impressive! They were very happy!

Weather Winter Will Wither???!

May 12, 2010 - and we are wondering if this winter will ever end. These pictures show the contrast between here (Coal Creek) and Thornton this morning! It was cool here, 58 degrees but sunny and blue sky. And yes, we all wonder about this weather - whether it will ever warm up!!

Oh my - up at Terri and Brady's in Thornton, it was a total different look! When Terri took this picture, she said about 3 inches had already melted, but it was only 38 degrees and overcast. So yes, will winter EVER leave?!!

Generator Saga Ends!

I believe somewhere in this mess of "Blogging" I had mentioned that the generator in our motorhome had to be taken into shop for repair. It had quit working up camping last July, so at the recommendation of Tom's cousins in the valley, they took it out of MH and took it into repair shop in Monte Vista.

Well, finally last December, Tom called them and said he was going to pick it up, whatever condition it was in. (They had lost parts, taken things apart and couldn't get them back together etc etc) so the first of January, he went over to the valley and picked it up.

He brought it over here, to "TAPS" - Tom Trogden in Florence. I am so happy to report that this last week - we finally got it back, repaired, put back together, and so far, working fine!!!!! Thanks to son-in-laws (Bill and Mark) who were the muscle, it secured back in it's home inside the motorhome!

Now I'm wondering why I didn't take pictures of that process???

So tomorrow, we will take our first trip of the year, just going down to Lamar for a BBQ with the kids, but it will be good to be back in the motorhome!!!

Until next time. . .
